One of the stars of the upcoming Disney+ Daredevil reboot, titled “Daredevil: Born Again,” made an unexpected departure from their X (formerly Twitter) account on social media.
Fans were taken aback by the unexpected challenges that “Daredevil: Born Again” is encountering. The show’s writing team was dismissed due to the writers’ strike, and Marvel Studios is now set on a comprehensive overhaul of the series, even though several months of production had already been completed prior to the Hollywood work stoppage.
After that report, Vincent D’Onofrio, the actor playing Kingpin and the star of the series, emphasized the cast and crew commitment are “going to bring forward the best series [they] can.” He expressed his confidence in the Marvel team to handle Daredevil in a way that does it justice.
Daredevil Star Leaves X Social Media Platform
Vincent D’Onofrio, who stars in “Daredevil: Born Again,” revealed his exit from X by confirming his departure on his social media profile.
Sharing with his fans that he’s “going to leave very soon,” he mentioned that he has been contemplating this choice for a while and expressed his affection to his 485,000 followers.
“So everyone, I’m going to leave X. I’m going to leave very soon. To my amazing and loyal followers: You know I have been contemplating this for a long while. Today is the day. I leave you for now with much love to you all.”
He also mentioned that he’s considering the possibility of leaving Instagram, alluding to the idea that he might return in the future with “a brand new account” if he decides to come back.
“Don’t think I’m going to be spending any time on any platform. Feeling like leaving Instagram today as well. I’ll come back soon or maybe later. I don’t know. Maybe with a brand new account.”
He concluded his message by sharing a brief poem he had penned earlier, aiming to bid farewell to his fans with a message of inspiration.
“I wrote this once: ‘Time stops when I’m with you. Airplanes halt in the sky. The three children still, hands raised to a ball stuck hanging in the air. All others disappear and you and I at a table in a meadow somewhere in the world embraced in conversation and lust. We lived there. I’m still there, I believe. I believe that time stopped when I was with you.’”
For many years, D’Onofrio maintained a strong presence on his social media profiles, and most recently, he provided hints about his 2021 comeback as Kingpin in the Disney+ series “Hawkeye.”
However, some individuals believed that the actor’s posts occasionally crossed the line, and the director of “Hawkeye,” Rhys Thomas, has acknowledged that D’Onofrio may have revealed too much with his hints about Kingpin.
This comes as D’Onofrio waits to get back to work on Daredevil: Born Again amidst the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, although the MCU reboot is being completely reworked for Disney+ during this time.
This coincides with D’Onofrio’s anticipation of returning to the set of “Daredevil: Born Again,” despite the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. It’s important to note that the MCU reboot for Disney+ is undergoing a comprehensive overhaul during this period.
When Will Daredevil Reboot Debut on Disney+?
Witnessing D’Onofrio’s departure from social media is undeniably disheartening for MCU enthusiasts, as they had grown accustomed to his insights and commentary on a character he has wholeheartedly embraced over the years.
Just recently, fans received official confirmation about the recasting of a significant character from the Netflix series “Daredevil,” leaving many pondering how this show will fit into the broader MCU storyline.
However, with D’Onofrio showcasing a notably more toned physique compared to his previous portrayals as Kingpin, excitement is mounting to witness the extent of his power and terror in his upcoming return.
Currently, the foremost questions revolve around when D’Onofrio can return to the production of his Daredevil series and when the show will ultimately make its debut on Disney+.
An official copyright listing filed by Disney has suggested that “Daredevil: Born Again” might see its premiere in 2025, marking a significant delay from its initial Spring 2024 release timeframe. Given the show’s substantial creative reworking and the ongoing SAG-AFTRA actor strikes, which are impeding the filming process, it’s quite probable that the show might be postponed even further into that year.
The anticipated release date for “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+ has been pushed to 2025.
