The 28-year-old star of “Paint The Town Red” was mentioned in court documents filed in the US this week, seeking protection from her brother, Raman Dlamini.

In the filed documents, Deborah Sawyer, her mother, asserted that both herself, Doja, and Doja’s 13-year-old nephew require protection from him.
In the petition for a domestic violence restraining order, Sawyer claims there is ‘a constant threat of violence and the worst verbal abuse,’ stating that her son has ‘choked me and threatened to hit me several times.’
Referring to Doja, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zadile Diamini, Sawyer indicates that she also requires protection from him as she ‘has experienced physical harm such as teeth being knocked out and bruises and lacerations.’
‘Raman has destroyed and stolen property. Raman has verbally assaulted her in a very degrading and demeaning manner. Raman has made her feel very unsafe and traumatized.’
According to TMZ, a restraining order has been approved for Sawyer and her grandson, while the judge chose not to grant one for Doja.
Instead, the judge stated that Doja, being an adult, would need to personally file for the restraining order.
It is known that Sawyer previously held a restraining order against her son, but it has since lapsed or expired.
In the recent documents, she asserts that the family ‘have done everything to help Raman and give him every consideration and love but he has some very deep issues that need attention.’
Doja, the singer of “Say So,” has not issued any comments regarding the reported filings.
The 28-year-old rose to prominence in 2018 with her viral online hit “Mooo!”, providing her with a platform to launch her music career.
In 2019, her album “Hot Pink” reached the top 10 on the charts, and in 2021, “Planet Her” secured the number two spot. Her latest single, “Paint The Town Red,” became her first number-one hit.
Doja has received 16 Grammy Award nominations and secured a win in one of the categories.
She is scheduled to perform in the UK during her upcoming summer tour.
